If the thing with the hole in it has a pulley that the main belt is turning, than it is the water pump. And, if there is water coming out of the water pump, than the water pump is going bad and must be replaced.
The water pump circulates the coolant throughout the engine. When a pump fails on a 1997 Hyundai the coolant will not circulate properly and cause the engine to overheat.
Blown head gasket or cracked head which causes coolant to enter the combustion chamber. STOP driving this car until this is repaired or you will destroy the engine.
low coolant ,froze thermostat ,leaks in hoses ,radiator
It could be the radiator is clogged. The thermostat could be bad (prevents the coolant from circulating from radiator to engine block)
2003 santa fe 2.7 what could cause The engine whilein park the idle is smooth when in gear engine has intermttent miss & hesitates on acceleration with minor backfire
Coolant is used to keep an engine in a vehicle at a temperature safe for operation. If no coolant is in the reservoir, an engine will not start.
Yes, If to much leaks out this will cause the engine to over heat, smoke and or stall hence the name engine COOLant :)
No, low coolant would cause the opposite.
water pump, oil, water, engine coolant....main cause would be engine coolant, just check to see if you have a leak.
The coolant sensor moniters the coolant temperature. A faulty thermostat could cause the engine to run cool.
Blown head gasket will do it check your coolant for oil in it and your engine oil for coolant it it...
Yep
