Hey,I have exactly the same problem. My friend, who is a mechanic, took a look at it. We checked the fuses and fuseable links in the engine compartment and the fuses in the interior panel and all was fine. He fixed the ignition switch and checked the contacts, but still no response from the tail or dash lights. After about five hours he gave up. So I'm taking it to a Nissan dealer tomorrow to see if they can diagnose what it is.My advice to you is that its most likely not a fuse or fuseable link. Probably a loose wire. I will repost when I get this problem fixed.
AnswerThe mechanic I went to confirmed there was a bad fuse for the tail lights, which I fixed. The instrument panel/dashboard light is still off, suggesting there is probably a short in the wire which I am attempting to locate.A faulty camshaft can cause your 1991 Nissan Maxima to idle erratically. A diagnostic test could verify the cause of the improper idling speed.
A bad heater core / it needs to be replaced
Could be timing belt tensioner.
need to check transmission fluid level/ or transaxle fluid level
One can purchase a Nissan Maxima from most Nissan dealerships or alternatively one could search for this car on sites like 'AutoTrader', 'Edmunds' or 'Yahoo! Autos'.
Noise from floor on 96 Nissan Maxima could be as a result of poor shifting. This often occurs when you use the wrong gear oil.
A bad crankshaft sensor would stop the engine and not restart.
In order to have complete combustion you need only a few things.-Spark-Fuel-Air-Compression-Correct TimingAny of these things could cause a misfire.A common problem with the 1992 Nissan Maxima is the fuel injectors. I would check the resistance on them and check the wiring harness.
it could be your mass air flow sensor
The Error code P0171B. The cause??? Help! vacuum leak. dirty injectors( 4 or 6 cyl.?)
