Do you mean how could a peaceful accomodation have been made with the Fascist powers? It couldn't have been. Their were no legitimate areas of contention between the Axis and the other nations of the world. Germany, Italy and Japan were bent on rapacious conquest and the wholesale extermination of conquered populations. People who got in their way had two choices, fight and die or not fight...and die anyway. If you read Hitler's writings and speeches he makes it perfectly clear (he hid nothing) that his intention was war and conquest. He got as much as he could without fighting but that was only while he was building Germany's strength so that they could fight. When the other nations of Europe finally refused to give him something he demanded, Poland as it turned out, Germany attacked and took it anyway. Germany was the leading Fascist power but Italy and Japan functioned basically the same way. Michael Montagne IF-a big IF, Britain and France had not appeased Hitler, he would have backed down and away from the actions that precipitated the war,if he had attempted to go ahead with them,we know his General staff were ready to overthrow him and put him out of business. If the United States had not had the isolationist attitude and had joined Britain and France there would have been an Allied power base that no other dictator would have gone up against,and the Alliance would have been doing THEN, what they are doing today in Iraq, (France being the exception)but without the fighting,-Putting down dictatorships. But without the inventions that came out of W.W.2
