Loose, broken, or faulty wiring in the charging circuit. Or a short in the vehicle wiring causing a constant drain on the battery. Also, check any ignition fuses that may be blown.
If there is a smaller wire to the positive battery cable it probably has an inline fuse link in it. The fuse link is embedded in a hard plastic covering on most chevys. There are many causes for link to be bad, keep this in mind if you bypass the fuse link. Recommend replacing the positive battery cable. Ground cable connection should be checked. Do headlights work?
you may have a dead battery of a shorted wire or component. be sure to connect positive to positive and negative to negative. disconnect one component at a time to find short. check that the exaust manifold isn't touching the starter
have the alternator and the battery checked
The only thing this will do is to rest the computer. Problem doesn't exist in starting or charging system, have computer checked.
If the alternator is computer regulated it may not run with battery disconnected. The alt. may be good, but the wires to it are open/shorted.
never
The battery does not have sufficient voltage to start the car when it's cold. Have the battery checked out. If it still goes click click after running the car for a while, have the alternator checked also. A bad battery will not hold a charge and a bad alternator will not recharge the battery, (That is the reason to have the battery checked first). Make sure the connections at the battery are clean and tight.
In my opinion, I would put positive to positive and negative to negative and try it again if it doesn't work then you have detsroyed your battery and should probably pay more attention next time you connect a battery i tried that and i also took the battery back to the shop whom exchanged it for me but the same problem occurs please please help me i have checked the fuses under the steering wheel and the box by the battery i am really stuck as what to try next please help me its a Renault laguna petrol 2.0 1994 reg
I have an ac delco model 7641, it's a good and used one i got in the "meanwhile" but where I got it they checked on a reference catalog so I am positive that this is the one.
Have the battery checked.
Is it charging, if not have you checked wiring to alternator.
Get the alternator checked before your battery goes dead.
