Canada has a degree of free trade with Germany under the terms of the World Trade Organization of which both countries are members; it does not have the same degree of unrestricted trade that it has with the US and Mexico under the terms of the North American Free Trade Agreement. All of these trade agreements are very complicated. But in general, there is certainly commerce between Canada and Germany.
The North America Free Trade Agreement or NAFTA.
The USA and Mexico are Canada's trading partners under the NAFTA agreement.
The World Trade organization was formed by the United States under the Marrakesh Agreement. It was founded to improve trades among the different countries in the world. The introduction and implementation of the Marrakesh Agreement triggered the establishment of this organization. The World Trade Organization was established on the first day of January year 1995.
It is an agreement that was negotiated under the auspices of the United Nations Committee on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) by producer and consumer countries of tropical timber. Its main objective was to create an environment for a sustainable trade in tropical timber that benefited both producing and consuming countries. The agreement was a breakthrough in this area of international trade and has been built on and expanded by subsequent agreements which have replaced it. It established the organization's headquarters in Yokohama, Japan.
NAFTA
Free trade agreements. Over 90% of Mexico's trade is under such agreements with more than 40 countries, including Canada, the United States, the European Union, Japan, Israel and most countries in Central and South America.
One is the World Trade Organization (WTO), under the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT). Another are certain agencies of the United Nations. Another are binational or multinational treaties and agreements specifying the nature of trade (which may constitute free trade or a customs union), such as, for example, the North American Free Trade Agreement.
