The cold war included no actual combat. It was fought with threats of nuclear warfare. Also fought with "proxy" wars. (Vietnam and Korea) The soviets supported North Korea, and the US supported South Korea. These were wars fought between the two countries through other countries.
The cold war was about how two countries fought each other.
the cold war was mainly fought in smaller countries, such as vietnam and korea. these countries were viewed as a battleground between the forces of communism and democracy. there was no direct war between the USSR and the USA, only an arms race to stockpile as many weapons as possible.
The growing conflict in Korea was a microcosm of the overall Cold War as there was no direct armed conflict.
A large majority of the cold war was fought in other countries land-but the main conflict was between Russia and the USA. The Cold War was made up of proxy wars, in Korea, Vietnam, and Afghanistan. Although I do not know the death toll, it was very, very bloody.
obviously not, because all the countries we fought in during the Cold War are still communist: Vietnam Cambodia Laos N. Korea China Cuba
In the cold war there was never any fighting but the countries that were involved were Russia, America and Cuba. Some have confused the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962 with the Cold War. It was a part of the Cold War but not nearly all of it. And there was a great deal of fighting in countries like Greece, Korea, Angola, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Vietnam, Afghanistan and many other places. The global superpowers could not fight directly and keep the Cold War cold, so they fought smaller wars by proxy, used propaganda, espionage, arms escalation, and all methods short of direct warfare.Countries involved in the Cold War were mainly the United States and the Soviet Union, but also China, North and South Korea and Germany.
Many of the troops who supported North Korea were Chinese, while many of the troops who fought for South Korea were American.
The Korean war mate, the first of military 'theaters' in which Communism and capitalism fought
None, the cold war wasn't a war. However...Korea & Vietnam can be considered two "battles" of the cold war; since Korea/VN were "hot" (shooting & killing) wars during the cold war. The cold war was about communism vs free world. Korea/VN were both fought between communists and the free world.
During the Cold War, the US and the USSR engaged in a complex global struggle for domination, but they never attacked each other directly, through bombing or invasion. Instead they fought wars in other countries such as Korea and Vietnam. It was a war with limits. That was because both sides knew that in an unlimited war, nuclear weapons would be used and everyone would lose.
Red China, North Korea, Cuba, and of course North Vietnam & for the other side, France, UK, Canada, etc.
