the statue of liberty was sent in1886 october28lol think
Building the statue of liberty took thousands of workers. It was built by the French, and sent over seas to America.
The statue of liberty was completed in October 28! It took about 3 years to complete, but when sent to the United States it was not totally done. Pieces of the statue were shipped off and then put bck together. How nice of the French, huh!
1885.
It is the face of the mother of the kind man who designed and sent to us! The man sent the statue lived in France! This was an AMERICAN/FRENCH sign of friendship!
I think the Lady liberty was sent to America for us to trust France.
it was a gift of friendship sent from Paris.
France did not offer the statue of liberty to Ottoman empire. It was not belong to France to make such an offer. It was originally financed by Ottoman sultan Abdulaziz and was built by Frederic Bertholly in France for the inauguration of the suez canal in Egypt. However , after Egypt has won its independence from Ottoman Empire new ruler objected the statue for religious reasons and statue remained in France. 10 years later , by changing some part of the statue it was sent to the USA as a gift on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the USA. I do not understand why there is an unreasonable denial of the historical background of the statue.
No. It was never lost. It was sent from France and put together when it arrived.
1 - New York; 2 - Jardin du Luxembourg (Paris); 3 - Maceió (Alagoas-Brazil); Search google images for 'Estátua da Liberdade Maceió' and see the result on images. In addition to the Statue of Liberty in New York, there are also two replicas of the statue in France (where the New York one was made). One of these was sent to Tokyo in 1998 for "French Year in Japan". It was so popular that a replica was erected in 2000, after the original was sent back to Paris.
