Wars don't generally have bad guys and good guys. They have one side and the other. In the case of the Korean war one side was the arbitrarily designated area known as North Korea backed by the Peoples' Republic of China, the other side was the arbitrarily designated area known as South Korea backed by the United States of America. The physical division of Korea was done by by an agreement of the victorious Allies at the conclusion of the Pacific War at the end of World War 2, not by the Korean people. Each side saw the other as wrong.
