The Roman Empire divided between the Western Roman Empire and the Eastern Roman Empire. The Eastern Roman Empire, also known as the Byzantine Empire, retained control over Greece up until the 1400s-1500s when Sultans Mehmet II, Selim I, and Suleiman of the Ottoman Empire conquered Greece from the Byzantines.
It should also be noted that Crete and a number of the Ionian, Cycladic, and Dodecanese Islands were controlled by Venetians or Templars during the 1400s-1700s.
This question is nebulous as it does not specify a time period. In the Ancient Period (roughly 600-480 B.C.E.)
the Persian Empire, tried to conquer Greece. Greece was later added to the Roman Empire in 146 and 27 B.C.E.
.Greece was the main part of the Byzantine Empire for nearly 1000 years where it was invaded by numerous foes, Bulgarians, Ostrogoths, Arabs, Persians kingdoms and others.
During the Medieval period, most of Greece was conquered by the Ottomans, but several of the islands were held by the Venetians and Hospitaliers.
After Greece achieved independence in 1826, nobody tried to invade Greece*, except for the Italians (who failed in October 1940) and the Nazi Germans (who were successful in 1941). Greece was liberated when the Nazis fled in 1944.
*The Turks invaded successfully Greece in 1897. The boarders stayed the same, but Greece payed heavy war compensations.
