No battleships were sunk (except an old pre-dreadnaught), only battlecruisers were sunk. Germany claimed they won, because they sunk the most battlecruisers; Britain said they won because the Germans wouldn't come out and fight again. This battle is nick-named, the "Battle of Lost Opportunities."
