Prince George, British Columbia was named after Prince George, Duke of Kent, who was the fourth son of King George V and Queen Mary of the United Kingdom. The city was established as a railway town and named in his honor when the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway built a station there in the early 1900s.
After the expedition, George Drouillard returned to St. Louis, Missouri, where he worked as a hunter, trapper, and interpreter. He continued his exploration and later settled in St. Charles County, Missouri, where he died in 1810.
