Acid rain.

In a clean atmosphere rain is naturally slightly acidic, because it absorbs carbon dioxide from animal exhalation.

H2O + CO2 = H2CO3 .

However,

With the release of sulphur dioxide ort nitrogen dioxides intoi the atmosphere, rain becomes more acidic.( lower pH)

H2O + SO2 = H2SO3 ( sulphurous acid)

H2O + NO(x) = 2HNO(x) (Nitrous/ic Acid)
