Excalibur was the sword owned by King Arthur.King Arthur
king arthur, when he died, left excalibur to none other than Merlin. Merlin took excalibur back to the place it was forged, the place where lady guenivere and lancelot betrayed arthur. but, it has only been discovered recently, for Merlin even forgot the secret. but, that's where it lies, but it can only be drawn by one with courage and love in their heart.
The very first thing King Arthur did was find and claim the sword. Excalibur was a sword that was stuck in a stone and could only be claimed by the rightful heir and king.
Because it is that old stone age and Neolithic it's the new stone age
Excalibur.
Excalibur
Excalibur was the sword which King Arthur pulled from the stone, and in pulling it from the stone, proving that he was Uther Pendragons son, securing his seat on the throne.
Excalibur is a mythical sword, originally, pulled in a stone. The only true king was able to release it. It was the Arthur who took the sword out of stone and he was proclaimed the king.
In the history of king Arthur he finds a competition to pull a sword out of a stone. He pulled out the sword and he named it Excalibur.
He pulled the sword from the stone. this sword was not Excalibur.
The sword, as far as I know, had no name. Excalibur is a totally different sword. Arthur got Excalibur soon after breaking the sword in the stone in battle.

The sword in the stone and Excalibur are 2 different things. Merlin put the sword in the stone in the stone( which by pulling it out made Arthur King Arthur), and Excalibur was the sword that came later after the sword in the stone broke. Excalibur came from the Lady in the Lake.
When Excalibur was given to Arthur by the Lady ofthe Lake sometime after he began to reign. In most versions of the story, these are two different swords. Arthur receives Excaliber from the Lady of the Lake after breaking the sword in the stone during a battle.
He pulled it from the stone! It's fitting because he was the leader of the team and it seems the sword deemed him "worthy" or something.
No, Excalibur is not in The Lord of the Rings. It is the sword from the Legend of King Arthur. It was given to Arthur by the Lady in the Lake, or was pulled from the stone, depending on which version you are reading/watching.
