yes, but , you ned to be in a very dark room. What I do though ,, is get any kind of lamp with a 75 w or higher bulb. Then I get tin foil and wrap it around the bulb and make an upside down funnel shape at the top and then flare it out to where you could lay an egg on top of it and it would hold it. Then turn the lights out and turn the lamp on and lay an egg on top of the foil. It works great and I have NEVER had a problem with the heat of the light causeing fertility problems.
by using a bright light on an egg to see if its fertile or not. if there are veins (after a certain amount of days) then it is fertile. you can only find out if it is fertile or not only after 4 or more days. (this is for chicken eggs)
Although there is special equipment, candling an egg doesn't need anymore than a hand, a dark room and a good flashlight.
An egg with a colored shell will be more difficult to candle, but with
practice it can usually be done.
by going in a dark room and putting a flashlight under it
Candling an egg is how you can tell if they're fertile or not. Many people who are involved in aviculture use this technique.
Candle your eggs around 10 days after you first put them in the incubator. This will show you which have developed and which have not.
Thanks
You can candle them to check for development. Mark those with dark spots indicating they are viable and date them. If after 21 days there is no change they are garbage. If you candle and see nothing, then they were not fertile eggs and should be discarded.
Candling can be done at any time, although day 8 onwards is usually when the embryo is more easily identified. Day 3 of incubation (usually pale shelled eggs). Day 5/6 of incubation (usually dark shelled eggs). Between day 8 - 12 of incubation (embryo more easily identified). 3 days prior to hatching.
Candle them at the 8th and 15th day.
Easter Sunday is the traditional day for chocolate Easter Eggs.

The best way to tell if eggs are gluggers is to candle them. Hold a flashlight behind them in a dark room. You should be able to see the veins or developing embryo if they are fertile.
Eggs
one should take atleast two eggs a day to fight hair fall
Daily Fresh eggs should be collected every day in moderate temperatures. Eggs laid in cold (freezing) weather and in hot temperatures should be gathered at least twice per day to prevent spoilage.
you candle eggs to tell if the animal is alive and to see how the animal is living, is it growing well etc,.
You can try candling quail eggs at about eight days. Though it is often hard to see due to the coloration of the shell.
each candle stands for one day of the miracle of Hanukkah, except for the Shamash (9th candle) which is just a helper candle used to light the others.
