yes most sound cards have an audio-in input. Just look on the back of your computer, right next to where you have your current speakers plugged in there should be another input for an audio cable.
Audio input is bringing sound signals into a device from another device, typically using a plug or jack.

Change the audio input selection on the Pioneer from Auto to Analog. The auto mode expects the audio to come from the HDMI port when it is plugged in.
In Pro Tools 9 or 10, you can use the MobilePre as an audio interface. You must select it as the input in the hardware options. The mic must be connected to one of the XLR microphone inputs on the MobilePre, the phantom power turned on if it is a condenser mic, and an audio track armed with the first or second input selected (depending upon where you plugged in the mic).
Using a Cable or Satellite tuner box, connect the audio output of the box to the input on the home theater system. If you are not using an external box, connect the audio output of the TV to the input on the home theatre system.
DETAILS ON MY ISSUE This is how my setup is currently. PC>>Audio Sound Bar with multiple inputs/outputs>>TV My PC only has a DVI out for video and Optical for audio. I got an DVI to HDMI cable and I plugged it into my sound bar and I also got an optical cable going to my soundbar. Now when I select the correct input (its set to DVD) I can only get video. Its like the soundbar will only allow the audio or the video to come through. I have unplugged the hdmi and the audio comes in fine. I have also tried to put the audio on one input and the HDMI on another but obviously that doesn't solve my issue either because you cant pick more than one input.
A coaxial digital output (usually an RCA jack) can connect to a digital optical input using a coaxial to optical digital converter. This is a small box that goes in between the two products.
