Who was the first Christian emperor?

If the intent of this question is to ask who was the first Christian Emperor of Rome, then the following are answers:Constantine I the Great is the first Roman Emperor known to have been baptized. It is possible that Philip the Arab was baptized, as it is understood that he was tolerant toward Christians and there is an account saying he was Christian recorded by Eusebius. This is not regarded as firmly historic, however. There are accounts of monarchs of other countries being baptized early on, and one of these was the Askumite king Ezana II, who is said to have been baptized in about 324 AD. While there are other monarchs who are said to have been baptized earlier, they are called kings, and there is no one calling them emperor, which is a title given to Ezana. There are links below for more information.NOTE: The earlier answer to this question became a debate and so was moved to the discussion area. What was the most common religion in the medieval times in Spain?

This is a hard question to answer. Spain had Christians, Muslims, and Jews during the Middle Ages, but Christians and Muslims were in greater numbers than Jews. It is hard to know whether Muslims outnumbered Christians at some times, particularly around the year 800 or so. Earlier in the Middle Ages and later, in the Late Middle Age, Christians were in greater numbers.

Why did Rome hate Christians?

It does not appear as if the ancient Romans or the Roman emperors actually hated the Christians. From the time of the first Christian emperor, Constantine, and particularly from the time of Emperor Theodosius, the pagans were persecuted with incredible ferocity by the Christians. Edward Gibbon (The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire) says that the Christian writers of the fourth or fifth centuries ascribed to the earlier magistrates of Rome the same degree of implacable and unrelenting zeal which filled their own breasts against the heretics or the idolaters of their own times. In other words, much of the tradition about persecution of the Christians of the early Roman Empire was actually fourth and fifth century propaganda meant to help justify the actions of the Christians against the pagans, and perhaps to ease their consciences. There certainly were periods during which the pagan emperors decreed the persecution of Christians, but scholars say this amounted to a total of around twelve years of persecution - hardly evidence of hatred. At other times, the early Church Fathers exchanged cordial correspondence with the emperors who, in some cases employed Christians in trusted positions on their personal staff. Emperor Philip (244-249) was even rumoured to be a Christian himself, an issue that continues to be debated.

What law gave freedom to christian to practice their religion in the roman empire?

It was an edict issued by emperor Galerius in 311 and an agreement between co-emperors Constantine I and Licinius which restated the end of the Christian prosecutions initiated by emperor Diocletian a decade earlier, and the toleration of Christianity. It also added that lands confiscated from the Christians were to be returned and that compensation should be paid. The latter has been called the Edict of Milan (313), but it is not clear whether a formal edict was actually issued.

When were the Christians first noticed by the Romans?

The earliest known reference to Christians is when the Roman emperor, Nero, blamed the Christians of Rome, probably unfairly, for causing the Great Fire of Rome in 64 CE. As a result, he exiled the Christians from Rome. No doubt, the Romans were aware of Paul's evangelising in the eastern empire long before this.

China was ruled by dynasties (line of hereditary rulers) in earlier times. When a dynasty became weak, another man would take control of China and start a new dynasty, which is why there were so many different dynasties throughout China's history.
