This is an extremely broad question.
The soldiers ate differently from the citizens. The Germans ate differently from the Poles. The Poles ate differently from Jews. The Americans ate differently from the Dutch.
Basically, there were food shortages and rations everywhere.
US Army soldiers ate canned C and K rations in combat. US Navy sailors ate fairly decent meals in their ship's galley. Civilians ate regular meals with less meat and fat and sugar and more home grown vegetables from their "Victory" Gardens.
The soldiers during the war eat what ever they could find or get supplies from the camps they had.
Different branches of the service provided different kinds of meals in different combat situations. The Naval and Air Forces generally ate hot meals in a mess hall. Front line combat troops ate canned C-Rations or emergency K-Rations in the field, but hot meals in rear areas.
