Harold Edward Holt was born in Stanmore, Sydney, on the 5th of August, 1908. He and his younger brother attended four different schools. Between 1913 and 1919 the family have lived in Nubb (which is a Suburb in Sydney), Adelaide and Melbourne. Bothe of his parents was a school teacher.
When he was only ten years old his parents divorced. In high school and college his teachers said her was ahead of the grade in debating and sports. In 1947 he got married to Zara Fell and there adopted her 3 sons from a pervious marriage.
