After learning from Grandpa Joe, that his father had been taken to one of Martin Luther King Jr.'s speeches, Jamal wanted to know what the speech had been about. Grandpa Joe told him it was about the bus boycott, and how unity and peace were the best ways to bring about social change. This information inspired Jamal to do a skit for the Martin Luther King Jr. assembly, which demonstrated how fighting is not the answer.

What happened when Martin Luther was brought before the Diet of Worms?

The Diet of Worms in 1521 was an imperial council that was convened to decide the fate of Martin Luther. It was held in Worms, Germany. The Holy Roman Emperor Charles V presided over the diet. Luther's Protestant views were condemned as heretical by Pope Leo X in the bull Exsurge Domine in 1520. As a result Luther was summoned to either renounce or reaffirm them at the Diet of Worms on 17 April 1521. When he appeared before the assembly Luther was presented with a table filled with copies of his writings. Johann van Eck asked Luther if he still believed what these works taught. Luther asked for time to think about his answer and he was given an extension. Luther prayed, consulted with friends and mediators and presented himself before the Diet the next day. When he was asked the same question the next day, Luther apologized for the harsh tone of many of his writings, but said that he could not reject the majority of them or the teachings in them. Luther respectfully but boldly stated, "Unless I am convinced by proofs from Scriptures or by plain and clear reasons and arguments, I can and will not retract, for it is neither safe nor wise to do anything against conscience. Here I stand. I can do no other. God help me. Amen." On May 25, Emperor Charles the Fifth issued his Edict of Worms, declaring Martin Luther an outlaw.

Why did luther appeal to the princes?

Luther to the faith to the people, being against the bloated powerhouse that was then the church, telling everyone what, when, how, where and who. The church believed the peasants were too ignorant to decide for themselves and so told them what to believe. Luther believed in personal faith. Luther made the Bible available to them in a language they could understand, as the Catholic church kept the Word of God in Latin which was the language of the educated only. Also, through the selling of indulgences, the poor were exploited by the Catholic church, and Luther sought to liberate them from this.

What was one of Martin Luther main idea?

Martin Luther had several main ideas. His overriding criticism of the Catholic Church was that it placed too much emphasis on good works as a means to salvation, whereas Luther clearly saw in the Bible that salvation is based on "faith", not "good works." He also questioned the so-called "infallibility" of the Pope, and hence the Pope's authority. People should think about religion and decide about it for themselves.

How do you make a mini movie about Martin Luther King Jr?

To make a mini movie you first need to decide what the movie is going to be about, not only in general, but specifically. It's doubtful that you could make a mini movie about the life of Martin Luther King, Jr., so you need to decide what important part or parts of his life to include in your mini movie. You also need a script, people to play the parts, and somewhere appropriate to film your mini movie. Appropriate costumes are needed, too, but for a Martin Luther King mini movie, they would probably not be hard to get. Of course, you need a decent equipment to record your movie and if you plan to edit it, you will need an editing program.

"Legislative" refers to the part of the government with the responsibility of making new laws and carrying out decisions.
