∙ 9y agoJimmy Carter was a good student who received an excellent education. In addition, he had a strong military career and actually dealt with a nuclear meltdown. This coupled with running the family farm prepared him for a political career. He served as both legislator as well as governor, finally winning the presidency in 1977.
