A supposed poltical truth is that assassinations don't change anything, but the fact is that they do--just seldom for the BETTER. What they really don't do is accomplish their intended purpose. The bottom line here is that murder isn't justified no matter how noble and idealistic the reason.
Caesar was very popular with the middle and lower classes in Rome. He was seen as the hero of the people. This was because he was a popularis, a political faction which championed the cause of the poor and wanted reforms to help the poor. He was also supported in his civil war against the forces of the largely aristocratic senate and the opitmates. The optimates were a political faction which favoured the interests of the aristocracy and was opposed to the reforms. Caesar was seen as the man who had the courage to take on an aristocracy which was considered corrupt. He also implemented a land reform which redistributed farm land to the poor, wrote off 1/4 of all debts in Rome and donated money to the poor. His political supporters also saw him as the one man who could sort out the political mess the Roman Republic found itself in and create a strong government which would restore political stability.
Caesar's opponents hated what he stood for. Some of them also thought that he was planning to establish himself as a tyrant. This is why he was assassinated. The assassins thought that they were saving Rome's liberty by killing him.
Caesar believed in money and sex, but it wasn't like it was when he came but you never know. he wanted a wife and children. He also wanted to be emperor

Cicero was a noble and hot-headed senator who never liked to follow what other people started and was quite often miffed if anyone interrupted him. So, he did not have good relations with Caesar who imposed his decisions and did whatever he wished.
