Mahatma Gandhi in his quest for Independence adopted nonviolence satyagrahs for which he, as a naked faqir, travelled all corners of India and generated the struggle for Swarajya. When the country got Freedom he secluded himself from the scene, dejected over the way the freedom was got, killing millions of Indians due to the partition of India and for which he had never agreed. That was his repentance but giving the fruits and benefits to the others like Nehru.
