Since the term "native American" refers to all indigenous peoples of North, Central and South America your question is far too vague to answer. The rainforest tribes of South America had a diet completely different to the hunter-gatherers of Alaska or the desert peoples of the areas that later became Arizona and New Mexico.

Every tribe was different.
