Perhaps it would be useful to start by explaining that Paul was not really the author of Colossians. Its vocabulary differs considerably from that of Paul, while self-consciously using some key words and concepts from Paul's genuine epistles. It is widely accepted that this letter was written sometime during the 70s of the first century CE.

The author wrote in Paul's name and was very possibly a disciple of Paul. The term 'saints' referred to members of the Church.

What is the gospel of the colossians?

Maybe you mean the letter to the Colossians. Colossians is a book in the New Testament of the Bible it is a letter written by Paul to the church at Colosse. It was probably written while Paul was imprisoned in Rome around AD60. The purpose of the letter was to combat false teaching in the church at Colosse and to show that believers have everything they need in Christ. Paul had never been to Colosse the church was established by Epaphras.

What does Colossians chapter 4 verse 17 mean?

A:The Epistle to the Colossians was not really written by Paul, nor to the Colossians. It is believed to have been written in Paul's name some time in the 70s of the first century. Verse 4:17 passes on a greeting from 'Paul' to Archippus, who has been ordained a minister in the church. Archippus need not have been a real person, because it was a common ploy to add personal details to make a letter seem genuine. However, in this case we know from Philemon 1:2 that Archippus was a Christian known to Paul. This contrasts with the letters to the Corinthians, which really were written by Paul. He did not write to the leaders of the church in Corinth, because at that early stage there were no leaders such as deacons or pastors. There was a group of individuals, each of whom had a gift of the Spirit. But Paul was writing in the fifties or earlier, whereas Colossians was written in the seventies, and the author simply assumed that in Paul's time there was already a church hierarchy in place.

What does Saints Row mean?

Saints Row doesn't really mean anything, it's just the name of the district in which the Third Street Saints were founded.

What qualities do most saints have in common?

Oh my! This is a question that could have a very long answer depending on what view a person has. Let me stick to the biblical use of the word saint. A saint is a person who has accepted Jesus into his or her life. A saint is a person who has become holy in the eyes of God. Holy does not mean perfect. A saint has a saving relationship with Jesus Christ. The Apostle Paul calls Christians saints. For example in the books of Philippians and Colossians Paul says he is writing to the Saints in these particular places. Other places these saints (Christians) are describes as people who have love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. The apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians chapter 13 says the first and formost characteristic is love. If we do all sorts of wonderful things but don't have love it is all useless.

Are the apostles saints?

Mat 27:52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, Rom 1:7 To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called [to be] saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ. ALL WHO BELONG TO CHRIST ARE SAINTS, SO YES, OF COURSE! If you mean canonized saints in the Catholic and Orthodox churches, all of the Apostles except Judas have been officially canonized saints.

Who belongs to the community of saints?

I believe you mean the Communion of Saints. It consists of all the saints in Heaven, the souls in Purgatory and all those alive on earth who are in a state of grace.

How many saints are in the world?

That depends a lot on how you define "saints" - who do you want to include in your list. If you mean saints by the definition of the Catholics, I would say none: people are only declared as saints some time after their death.
