Saint Andrew was one of the Twelve Apostles and is known for being the brother of Saint Peter. He was a fisherman by trade and was called by Jesus to become a "fisher of men." Andrew preached throughout Asia Minor and Greece, eventually being martyred by crucifixion on an X-shaped cross, which is now known as the St. Andrew's cross.
