Early explorers learned about the Sioux tribe's advanced horsemanship skills, hunting techniques, and their way of life as nomadic hunter-gatherers. They also learned about the Sioux's deep connection to the land and their distinct cultural practices such as the Sun Dance ceremony.

What was France originally called?

France was originally called "Gallia" (Gaul) by the Romans. Its name changed after the Germanic tirbe of the Franks settled in northern France and gradually took control of the country; hence the French word France, coming from Latin's Francia, which literally means "land of the Franks" or "Frankland". The noun "Frank" itself meant "free", as opposed to slave.

How can you get water bending skills?

Alot of people say that Waterbending is impossible but its not. A few people have been able to harness the power of hydrokinetics. Its not all spiritual, although monks and nomads have claimed their spirits have been cleansed and that they can manipuate different elements. The power of hydrokinetics or "waterbending" as they call it in Avatar is an extremley rare ability for a human to posses (unlike in Avatar where over half of the Northern Water Tribe can waterbend). Few people have said they can manipulate water ande even fewer have proved it. The only person that has actually Waterbent was an old lady that live in the mountain springs of China called Xi Main has made a thin stream of water float up from the surface and touch her fingers, However she died 10 years ago. Nobody has ever found the secret to use hydrokinetic powers so the most feasable thing to do is go by the Avatar route. Learn Ti Chi, which is essential for all waterbenders. Try to reach spiritual awareness, and if you are by chance one of the luckiest people on Earth. Find someone that can use hydrokinetic powers or a 'Waterbending Master' and she if you can waterbend. *Note: The most accomplished Waterbender, Xi Main could only lift water three centimetres high. So it is very unlikley, even if you do have the power to use hydrokinetics to attack people with water.

How did Native Americans adapt?

the native Americans had to choose between side in this war. Who they sided with was really based on 2 things, One was who they thought was going to win and the other was who they thought would give them the most land/privlages in the new world (even though they had been there for longer thatn we know). Now most native Americans sided with the British, but some sided with the reblion. Now there were a very fortunate few who choose to be netural. The native Americans were great help to the Indians they knew the land. When they forst recuted them they just sent them on missions. The missions were to wipe out citys in the way that would be hard for the British to take out. But the british forgot about how Americans can spin things. So when the Indians eligedly killed a white woman they portrayed them as being compleatly ruthless and this upset everyone and really helped out the rebel cause. even though the native Americans new the terrain there were people in the colinal army new the land to. So this is how the American Indians adapted
