King George III thought that the Boston massacre was pointless and could have been prevented. He thought that it was useless also it was a waste of time if the colonist weren't mad at his solders wouldn't have attacked.

King George III, basically had little reaction to the Boston Massacre, which was easy to understand.

Samuel Adams, one of the leaders of the Sons of Liberty, hoped that the massacre would provoke the colonists to action. His newspaper ally, the Boston Gazette, shrieked for weeks about the incident, but everywhere else things calmed down rather swiftly.

Governor Hutchinson used good judgment in handling the affair. He arrested the soldiers and ordered them to be brought to trial.

The soldiers hired as their defense counsel John Adams, Samuel Adams' cousin. A skilled attorney, Adams got them off with a rather light sentence.
