Moststate constitutions, in fact, contain language that is even stricter than the First Amendment, prohibiting the state from setting up a ministry, using tax dollars to promote religion, or interfering with freedom of conscience.
popular sovereignty? the people ratify the constitutions and then vote for government.
Bill of Rights
they were nervous because they didnt get any info
because if they didnt sign the constituton the constitution couldn't be passed
Articles of the Constitution are only amended, they are not removed. All of the original articles are still in the Constitution with the added amendments.
because the original Constitution didnt specifically protect freedoms of speech, religon, ect. they were promised the bill of rights to be added soon after if they signed on.
The original idea was that since most states have their own Bill of Rights, they would not need to include one in the Constitution. However, to help appeal to other states so the Founding Fathers could get everyone to approve of it, they decided to add them as amendments, or formal changes to the constitution. 12 were proposed, but only 10 were passed. They resolved the issue by including these 10 amendments as the Bill of Rights.
they didnt they didnt
It didnt
it was the constitution that was before the one we have today. it didnt work well, so it was revised into the modern constitution by our founding fathers. it was the constitution that was before the one we have today. it didnt work well, so it was revised into the modern constitution by our founding fathers.
