The poor ancient Egyptians meat usually included fish and a variety of different types of birds, such as chickens, ducks, geese, quails, and cranes. But the poor Egyptians rarely got any meat and were lucky to get any at all.

The food, apart from the meat, was partly figs, grapes, pita bread (not like the average pita bread these days - back then, the pita bread was so hard it could almost break ones teeth) . Beer and bread were common foods. Honey has been found in ancient tombs. They also ate fruit.
