Conquering most of the Pacific, and much of Asia. Japan experimented with and used new types of submarines (the largest in the world in WWII), aircraft carrying subs, the most power torpedo's of WWII (the Long Lance), the largest battleship ever sent to sea (Yamato class), etc.

Japanese victories: Battle of the Java Sea; Sinking of British battleship "HMS Prince of Wales" & British battlecruiser "HMS Repulse"; Pearl Harbor Attack, permenant loss of battleship's "USS Arizona", "USS Oklahoma", "USS Utah" (re-designated training/target ship); Battle of Tassaffaranga; Battle of Savo Island, Battle of Coral Sea (tactical victory, strategic defeat), Battle of Friday the 13th (Guadalcanal). And all land battles prior to 1942. Japanese defeats: Battle of Midway; Santa Cruz Islands; Iron Bottom Sound (Guadalcanal); Battle of the Philippine Sea; Battle of Leyte Gulf; And ALL land battles beginning in 1943, to include Guadalcanal, Philippines, Okinawa, Iwo Jima, Imphal (India), Burma, etc.

Conquered territories consisted of: the island chains of the Carolines, Aleutians, Gilberts, Solomons, New Guinea, Marianas, Indonesia, Malasia, Philippines; Southeast Asia, consisting of Burma, Siam (Thailand), Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, East Pakistan, and the Indian borders. On the continent, the eastern portions of China. Formosa (Taiwan) & Korea were taken prior to WWII.
