Sioux Indians called their homes teepees. These were very portable homes as they were made with long poles and buffalo skins and could be put up and taken down very quickly. The poles were tied together on one end, which would be the top of the teepee, and then the other ends of the poles would be moved apart in a circle to form a base for the teepee. The architecture of the teepee would appear like a cone pointing to the sky when completed.
