It proclaimed that no man could own another. In doing so it legally freed the slaves, many of whom had no place else to go nor any idea how to survive in the white-oriented nation in which they found themselves. This was, however, the beginning of freedom for black Americans. The road to true freedom for these citizens has been a long road and we, the people, still have a long way to go.
Officially very little - it was not a law, only a 'Proclamation'.
Its terms were largely ignored, because it applied only to those states over which Lincoln had no authority at that time.
But its chief purpose was to make it impossible for Britain and France to aid the South without looking pro-slavery themselves. This relieved Lincoln of his biggest worry, and it clearly swung the war's result.
it was the freedom for people. in declaration of independence it was independence for colonists and for emancipation proclamation is was the slaves
Declaration of Independence (1776)US Constitution (1787)Emancipation Proclamation (1863)
The document that President Abraham Lincoln used to free the slaves was called the Emancipation Proclamation. It freed slaves in the rebelling Southern states only, not border states. They were freed later. As Lincoln had no authority to free slaves, this was a war measure. The results were that slaves in areas captured by Union forces were freed.
The emancipation Proclamation doesn't have feeling.....
When Lincoln was president, the Emancipation Proclamation was to free all of the slaves in the Confederacy. :)

By American indenpent's announcement, you are referring to the Declaration of Independence? or the Emancipation Proclamation? Thomas Jefferson, our 3rd President, wrote the Declaration of Independence where we officially called ourself a new nation. Abraham Lincoln, our 16th President, wrote the Emancipation Proclamation, where he freed all slaves in territories controlled by the South.

The Emancipation Proclamation.
The Declaration of Independence was signed in 1776, the Emancipation Proclamation was proclaimed in 1863, so it came 87 years later (or as Abraham Lincoln said, four score and seven years later).
Lincoln didn't use the Declaration of Independence for the emancipation proclamation. The Declaration of Independence was a letter to the king telling why the colonies were declaring independence.
