Okay, here is the legend, which may or may not be true. Banjos ( not the Musical Instruments) is a small village in Spain, near Catalina. One day in August of l887, while farmers were busily harvesting their crops- there was a loud noise ( not from farm implements) and a boy and girl ( ages unstated- but apparently the Girl was older) walked out of a cave and startled the populace- they appeared to be normal human beings except having metallic-like garments and Green skin. Following some confusion they were taken in by a local Magistrate (Judge) who was also a prominent landowner i the community- obviously an honest chap. The initial problem was food- it took over five days to find foods that would agree with the Green Children"s digestive system- the answer was a common food product- Beans. shortly after this interval the boy died. The Girl recovered and lived for some years- learning Spanish in the process and becoming a ward of the Judge. It is said Language experts from Barcelona interviewed the Girl. Ages are not stated but it is believed the girl survived into Adolescence and had Blonde hair. She mysteriously died in l892 and was buried alongside her brother in the local cemetery. It is still a mystery and is discussed in various paramormal accounts. oddly, some similarities to the Green Children of Woolpit- dating from about l200 AD- but the Banjos tale, at least to me seems to have the ring( or Twang) of plausibility. The Judge certainly acquired an exotic domestic aide! From all accounts she was pretty, with Blonde hair- Oriental appearing eyes- and greenish skin.
They walked out of a cave or similar structure in Woolpit, England. much much later- l887, a similar incident occured in Banjos, Spain. Plucky young "uns ( pun intended). Oddly a modern slang usage for Banjos are Semaphores- particularily on bridges. ( when they are ready to lift the bridge those darn Banjos come down to horizontal, and power is cut off from the tracks) This usage of Banjos is common on the Path, which only uses Semaphores on Bridges.
