The King supported it because he was mad at the Patriots/Colonists because of the Boston Tea Party.
The Ceorcive Acts [or the Intolerable Acts] occurred in 1774.
In 1774 king George took the first choice: mastering the colonies. To punish the colonist of Massachusetts, Parliament passed four harsh laws. The colonist found these laws intolerable-unbearable- they called them the intolerable acts.
The Intolerable Acts, also known as the Coercive Acts, were passed by the British Parliament in 1774 as a response to the Boston Tea Party.
Under the Constitution of the United Kingdom, the Intolerable (Coercive) Acts of 1774 were not unconstitutional. In fact, it is clearly stipulated in the Constitution of the United Kingdom that "No Act of Parliament can be unconstitutional, for the law of the land knows not the word or the idea." The Intolerable Acts also cannot have been considered unconstitutional under the United States Constitution as it was not yet established at the time.
Where "were" the intolerable acts? They were in America and King George III of Great Britain created them to punish the colonies.
