There were two men, Michael Collins and Neil Armstrong, who stayed behind on the command module while Buzz Aldrin descended to the lunar surface during the first moon landing in 1969.

Neil Armstrong
I suppose that would be the men who actually walked on the moon's surface.
THere were a total of six missions where men were landed on the moon's surface.
6 manned missions have been put on the moon
As far as we have been able to ascertain Neil Armstrong did not leave a note behind on the Moon, if he did then it has been kept very quiet for almost 40 years.Buzz Aldrin carried a Silicon Disc, with messages from over 73 different countries to be dropped on the surface of the Moon along with a gold Olive Branch, Aldrin almost forgot to drop the disc, which he carried in a pocket sewn on his suit glove. Also there was a Plaque on the bottom half of the LM (which is still on the moon's surface today)The plaque reads:HERE MEN FROM THE PLANET EARTHFIRST SET FOOT UPON THE MOONJULY 1969, A.D.WE CAME IN PEACE FOR ALL MANKIND.
he left behind that all men and woman had rights. that it does not matter their color but their characteristics what they want to leave and offer to the world
The last men to step foot on the Moon were astronauts Eugene Cernan and Harrison Schmitt during NASA's Apollo 17 mission in December 1972. Cernan, who served as the mission commander, was the last to leave the lunar surface, famously stating, "We leave as we came, and, God willing, as we shall return." This mission marked the final crewed lunar landing of the Apollo program. Since then, no humans have returned to the Moon.
nobody knows
There were 6 successful landings on the moon during the Apollo program. Each landing brought 2 men to the surface, so 12 Americans walked on the moon.
There were 6 separate successful moon landing missions, carrying 12 men to the surface.
