The pact also secretly agreed to divide Poland and other parts of eastern Europe between the two powers.
The Molotov-Ribbentrop pact signed by Nazi Germany and the USSR agreed that the two nations would not attack eachother, and would divide Europe between them, with Germany taking the western half and the USSR taking the eastern half. Had Nazi Germany not violated this pact, it is likely that the outcome of WW II would have been different.
Because Communists and Nazis were not patries that agreed. They signed a Nonaggression pact so that they could catpure Poland and divide it between Russia and Germany because they were both looking to create a buffer of land surrounding their homelands.
