I would say that the plains Indians did not hunt every day because the women would take care of the children, help find fruits and berries, pack when it was time to move build the tepee and more. The women would also do beadwork, quilling, help butch the animals, prepare the food, and collect firewood. They would lastly prepare the skins(cleaning, curing, scraping and tanning) to.The men would hunt when time(not everyday). They would also protect his family, fight in battles, teach the boys how to hunt and fight.Lastly they would make tools, weapons and shields that they needed over time.
