The Tory party.
The British prime minister was the Tory Spencer Perceval. He governed between the years 1809-12 before becomming the first PM to be assassinated (in the House of Commons) shot dead by a merchant called John Bellingham. He was seceded by Tory Robert Jenkinson Earl of Liverpool (1812-1826)
Tories were people during the American Revolutionary War who were loyal to King George. Many times they were called Loyalists. In modern day UK, Tories are considered to be members of the Conservative Party.
The main ones are Conservative (Tory), Labour (Socialist), and LibDem. But there are others such as UKIP (United Kingdon Independence Party), the Green Party, Communist, Democratic Unionist Party, British National Party, and some others.

The Tory was a political party in Britain controlled by the aristocracy.
The Tory party in Britain was made up primarily of men who opposed the Whig party and were supportive of a strong monarchy.

A patriot. An American colonist that supported Great Britain was known as a Tory.
The King's allies. Normally made up of the landed gentry who opposed universal suffrage.
In Britain there is a political party known as Labour. Currently they are the party in power, forming the government. So Britain has a "Labour Government". The other main part is the Conservative Party. When they are in power there is a "Conservative Government", or because it is a nickname for their party a "Tory Government".
