Firstly, they were both the goddess of love, they were both married, and they both had fiery tempers. They also both loved making helpless mortals fall in love with each other, often against their will and they were both voted the most beautiful of the goddesses.

Aphrodite was a Greek goddess. Hathor was an Egyptian goddess.

A:I am not sure who is the true god, since people of many faiths study Greek mythology. For the purpose of this answer, I'll assume that the true god is the Christian God (Yahweh - YHWH).

Aphrodite was the great Olympian goddess of beauty, love, sexual pleasure and procreation. The Christian God is widely thought of as a god of love and procreation, but not one who approves of sexual pleasure for its own sake. Scholars say that until around three thousand years ago, Yahweh seems to have been a storm god, after which the Israelites began to see him as the moon god (although of course this is no longer the case). Aphrodite was at times the moon goddess in Greek mythology, although more often Venus.
