The SBC link to the Baptist Faith and Message gives what most Baptist believe, but first and foremost, Baptist believe that Jesus was the Son of God and that through His death on the cross, He paid the price for all people's sins. However, the only way to partake of that salvation and payment and become redeemed of all sin is to ask Jesus for it. But in so doing, one must be honest and truly feel conviction for their sins, resolving to live the rest of their life for God in the best of their abilities.

Baptists believe that in the beginning, humans were unseparated from God, but that sin brought about separation from His grace and mercy. Jesus restored that through his sacrificial death on the cross. Baptist do not believe in Purgatory, it is not a Biblical place. Hades was, but is not the same concept. It was a place mainly for the souls of people who were righteous, but died before Jesus did. Baptist are different from Catholics for that reason, also, because Baptist do not necessarily confess their sins to a priest so he can pray to God for that person's forgiveness or something. Jesus established the connection between God and His followers, so we can pray directly to God without a high priest or a burnt offering or the other stuff they needed in the Old Testament times before Jesus.

Baptist believe that the Holy Bible was inspired by the Holy Spirit (a facet of God but not separate) and that it is for our instruction for life and for the strengthening of our faith. In essence, it was passed from God to man to paper by divine revelation.

Also Baptists are much different from Southern Baptist. There is Independent Baptist and Southern Baptist. Souther focus mainly on the matter of abstenince, meaning the matter of sex before marrage. Or remaining pure. I am An Independant Baptist and we are a great religion. Come check us out at FBC! U know baby!

Baptist believe that Jesus was the human form of

God. The Son of God and part of the Holy Trinity.

Baptist believe in the four spiritual laws.

1. Man was made in God' image as a companion to Him.

2. Man has sinned and can not commune with God unless forgiveness is allowed and sacrifice is made.

3. Jesus Christ was God in the flesh and dwelt among us and was crucified as a sacrifice for or sins. He willingly died for us..It was his choice.

4. Jesus Christ is the way, the truth and the life and no one comes to the Father but through Him. All you have to do is confess your sins, accept Him as your personal Savior and follow Him to God. You will be given a new life and live eternally with God.

Baptists believe that the mother of Jesus was a virgin and that the conception of Jesus was a miracle. They do not pray to Mary because they believe that each person has the same right as a child of God to pray directly to God. Many Baptists believe that there is a Holy Trinity that is inconceivable by man that includes God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit and they are all the same being yet separate.
