catholics believe that jesus was the messiah. and technecally catholics are christians. being a christian means you follow christ. Technically there is more to that. Ya Catholics and Christians believe in Jesus Christ But there is differences as well. Some people say there both which is quite confusing. In some ways they are the same in some way they aren't Catholics under NO circumstances believe in abortion. Christians under some do. Basically Catholics have a lot of republican beliefs. It depends on the church really. It's complicated. The best way to find out is to ask someone.
IT is different because it has an apostolic tradition that has received from early Christians. Also,it has a church Magisterium. The catholic also depend on The Bible but they do not believe on Bible alone theory of the Non Catholics Christians. The Bible is not really complete revelation about God example the life of Jesus is not a complete details,in the Gospel only state the important part. There is a belief that is not found in the Bible example the Immaculate Conception,Holy Trinity,Assumption and the belief of the Purgatory. All these Dogma clarify the existence of God through the Holy people who discovered it.
Catholicism is Christianity. That being said, the largest difference between most Catholics and Protestants is Transubstantiation, wherein it is believed that during the Eucharist the bread and wine become the Flesh and Blood of Christ.
Simple, the Catholic faith was the only one established directly by God. The Jewish faith was similarly founded by God through Abraham and Moses, but Catholicism is Judaism fulfilled, and Catholicism is the only faith in which God came, Himself, and taught us, and gave up His life for us. Every other religion was founded by men, they do not even claim to be founded by God.
Well if they have different beliefs they aren't basically the same thing, right? Catholics, Mormons, and Protestant Christians do all consider themselves Christian and do all believe in Jesus Christ and in the Bible, but often their similarities stop there. The way they interpret the Bible, what they believe about who Jesus Christ is, and they way they worship, are completely different from each other.
The beliefs of both are quite different; it doesn't really make sense to believe both.
The biggest difference in beliefs alone is that Christians believe that Jesus is Christ while Muslims believe that Jesus was a great prophet although the greatest prophet in Islam is Muhammad.
Different Christian denominations have different beliefs in the nature of Jesus. As there are a number of these different Christian churches active in Australia, there is no consensus among Aussie worshipers.

If you are a Christian, then technically you are a member of the "catholic" church, because that usage of the term means "universal". If you are referring to the Roman Catholic church, then it means that you follow the beliefs and practices of that particular denomination in addition to being a Christian, just as you can be a Christian and a Presbyterian. There are many resources on-line that can help you find out what Roman Catholics believe if you wish to investigate that in depth.
"Evangelical" is a general term that includes many churches; basically, most Christian churches that are not Catholic. I believe it includes baptists.
