Albert Einstein is one of the most famous scientists of all time. His numerous contributions to physics include the special and general theories of relativity, prediction of the deflection of light by gravity, and gravitational lensing, and the quantum theory of a monatomic gas which predicted Bose-Einstein Condensation.

Because of his vast knowledge, many atheists and theists (including creationists) attempt to use quotations by him to justify their beliefs (or lack thereof). Religious people tend to agree that he believed in God, while atheists argue the contrary. In fact, many quotes can be found to support either position. In the end, historians agree that Einstein disliked fundamentalist religion, and was actually a "pantheist."

"It was, of course, a lie what you read about my religious convictions, a lie which is being systematically repeated. I do not believe in a personal God and I have never denied this but have expressed it clearly."

-Albert Einstein

"I believe in Spinoza's God who reveals himself in the orderly harmony of what exists, not in a God who concerns himself with fates and actions of human beings."

-Albert Einstein

So, to summarize, although some may assert that Einstein was religious, many now have come to realize that he was not. In light of this realization, creationists consider Einstein "wrong." They usually say that he was naive with respect to religion and misunderstood God.
