My Blazer had a max speed of 95mph built in to the computer and would cut out whenever I tried to exceed it, in addition the cruise would not set at over 85. I dont think anything short of reprogramming the computer will cure it, besides 95 is crazy fast in a 4x4 suv.
use a scanner, or unhook battery.
Your local auto parts store can sell you a trailer plug harness that plugs into the vehicle's original harness that requires no cutting.

Why do you want to unhook your battery??? If the alternator is good the car will continue to run, if it dies then you have a bad alternator this is why you would want to unhook the battery cable to check and see if you have a bad alternator
You can either pull the fuse or unhook the car battery.
