For families where Hebrew sees much use, aba means father and ima means mother. For those who speak Yiddish, foter and tata both mean father, and mutter and mame (with two syllables) both mean mother (they are cognates to German). Most Jewish children are raised in the dominant language of the country they live in, so many of them who are raised in English speaking countries will use the usual Mom and Dad. Yiddish is more common among Hassidic families, even in Israel, while some families raise their children using the Hebrew aba and ima even if they usually speak some other language.

How should Jewish children treat their parents?

Jewish parents should be kind to their children, just as all other kinds of parents should be. Childhood is basically the same process, for people of any ethnicity. In terms of religious requirements, Jewish parents should feed their children kosher food and educate them about Judaism. Of course, it is possible to be Jewish in an ethnic sense without being religious, so even those religious requirements are optional.
