You may want to be a bit more specific, but I will try to give a round answer.

As far as occupations, they are normal people, trying to find a job they like and work hard to earn their salary. Some jobs that are less acceptable would be working in bars, casinos [though casinos do hire them for their honesty], and anything otherwise illegal.

*edit* Basically we are just regular people who try to follow the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. *end edit*

In their church, there are many things to be done. It is very structured and a very organized religion seeing as it has so many members.

Starting at the smaller positions. Infants go to Nursery, where they play and basically get babysat while their parents and siblings attend meetings. When the children reach schooling age, they go to Sunday School and Primary. Primary is where they meet with other children and the Primary Presidency who teach them kid-friendly gospel songs, the children get to give doctrinal talks in their own words, and they even get to have a program once a year in front of the whole congregation. In Sunday School, they have lessons from teachers out of the scriptures.

Girls from age 8-12 participate in Achievement Days. They separate by age with someone like a den mother, and learn about health and spirituality while having fun with Arts and Crafts - things that will help them find their talents.

Boys, all the way to graduation participate in Boy Scouts. At age 12 to graduation, boys also participate in a program called Duty to God. It has several tasks such as reading certain scriptures and writing their feelings about them, helping others, and otherwise developing their testimony. These boys also begin attending the Priesthood class which focuses on what God expects from man, how to keep the family safe and happy, and general gospel doctrine.

Girls age 12 to graduation go to Young Womens, where they also learn more about the gospel, marriage, the importance of what they do to become a loving mother, how education is important to having a family, and developing and sharing their talents.

Women 18 and older go to Relief Society. It is a support system where they learn from gospel books and journals about service to others, how to keep the family well, duties as a member of the church and other things. They also have Sunday School with the men 18 and older.

Men 18 and older attend Priesthood where they learn the same as the boys 12 and older.

All meetings include prayer and hymn singing. The youth/teenagers have something they recite each time in their meetings that include the memorization of their general worth, well-being, and the love for God and God's love for them.

There are many presidencies to lead each section and/or class and activity in the church. It continues from there.

Women also, after reaching a certain age, or marriage in the sacred LDS temples, are required to wear an undergarment which they are never allowed to remove to conform to fashion. Of course, women and men remove it for intimacy during marriage, bathing, swimming and judge for themselves whether to not wear it for certain other sports activities.

I am a Mormon so I will tell give you as best an answer as possible. Mormons go to church on Sundays. (Of course.) A lot of churches have different wards which start later than others. Our Church goes for 3 hours. First is Sacrament Meeting (Where the whole ward meets together.) Next is Sunday school (Where you learn about the gospel from a teacher with children your age.) And Finally there is either Priesthood or Relief Society. Priesthood is for boys 12 and older. Boys from 12-19 are known as members of the Aaronic Priesthood and boys from 19+ are known as members of the Melchizedek Priesthood. Relief Society is for women. On a specific weekday(s) the church has fun and neat activities at the LDS church to just come and enjoy.

Mormons (members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) try their best to live the teachings of Jesus Christ and do all that they are asked to do. They fulfill callings and assignments to the best of their ability. They show love to every person, even their enemies. They try to keep all of God's commandments to the best of their ability. They try to be Christlike in all that they do. A true Mormon will never make an enemy of you, and they are as good as their word.

At nighttime they come out of their upper-middle class suburban homes... few have lived the tale of what happens thereafter. Mormons are just like everyone else in this world but with different beliefs from others. We live in normal homes, we use electricity, and we eat normal food. Mormons are just like everyone else.

Things that most members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) have in common are:

*pray and study the scriptures often

*attend Church on Sunday

*dress and act modestly

*promote family values

*value hard work and education

*avoid alcohol, tobacco, coffee, and tea

*live moral and chaste lives

Other than following the tenets of their religion, Mormons are very diverse people. You can learn more about them at the "Related Links" below.

Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) can do whatever they want (well, except for things like running faster than a speeding bullet, or flying without mechanical aid). However, there are some guidelines that Church members are encouraged to follow, and some actions that will result in losing membership in the Church.

Activities that could make a Mormon loose their membership in the Church are:

*murder

*incest

*open apostasy

*rape

*sexual abuse

*spouse abuse

*intentional serious physical injury of others

*adultery

*fornication

*homosexual relations

*deliberate abandonment of family responsibilities

*robbery/burlary/theft

*embezzlement

*sale of illicit drugs

*fraud

*perjury

*false swearing

*abortion (in healthy pregnancies not resulting from rape or incest)

*transsexual operation

Mormons in leadership positions are held to a much higher standard than regular members. Excommuncation (loosing membership in the Church) is quite rare. Typically, a member committing one of these sins is 'disfellowshipped', meaning they are still members of the church but cannot give sermons, teach lessons, or pray in front of the congregation for a period of time (usually a year).

Guidelines that Mormons are encouraged to follow are:

*dressing modestly

*avoiding alcohol, tea, tobacco, coffee, and 'habit forming drugs'

*chaste and virtuous lifestyle

*obey and honor laws and government

*follow the ten commandments (obey parents, keep sabbath holy, etc)

*no swearing

*pay tithes

Many different services are available to members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (commonly called "Mormons") in the Temple. While regular Sunday worship services and congregation activities are open to all and held in Church meetinghouses, Temples and their services are open only to members of the Church who have received a recommend from their local leaders. Temples are usually open Tuesday through Saturday or by appointment only. The only exception is when public tours are offered during the first few weeks after the Temple is completed.

Temples provide ordinances that are not available anywhere else. The majority of these ordinances are aimed at providing salvation and exaltation for those who have died. Everything in the Temple is highly symbolic. For example, everyone participating in a Temple service first changes into modest white clothing. White clothing is symbolic of purity and gives those participating a sense of unity when they are all dressed similarly.

One popular use of temples is called Baptism for the Dead. Church members ages twelve and up participate in these. Members of the Church believe that baptism is an essential ordinance for salvation. In order to give everyone an opportunity to accept Jesus Christ through baptism, they are baptized in behalf of those who have died. It is believed that those they are baptized for will have the opportunity in the afterlife to accept or reject the baptism before they face their Final Judgement. Baptisms for the dead take place in a special font modeled after the one found in 1 Kings 7:23-26. As Church members believe that they are practicing New Testament Christianity, they use 1 Corinthians 15:29 to defend their practice of Baptism for the Dead. In coordination with these baptisms, Confirmations for the Dead, as well as Priesthood Ordinations for the Dead, also take place.

Another popular ordinance Church members participate in is called the Endowment. A Church member generally receives his or her own Endowment (named such because it is considered a gift from heaven) when they leave for missionary service, when they get married, when they reach their late 20's, or one year after they convert, if converting at an older age. The Endowment is simply a series of teaching and covenant making, some by video and some by lecture, that discusses the creation of the world and the purpose of life. In larger temples, each stage of the Endowment is presented in a different room, while in smaller temples it is all presented in one room. Once a member has received their own Endowment, they may participate in Endowments for the Dead,in which they participate in an Endowment service in behalf of someone who has died.

Before receiving the Endowment, one must have received their Washing and Anointing. This is based after the washing and anointing of Aaron in Leviticus 8, minus the blood and sacrifice.

Often considered the most important ordinace available in the Temple is sealing. When a couple or family is 'sealed' in the temple, it is believed that they will remain together as a family unit in heaven. A sealing can also act as a legal marriage for a couple who was not previously married. A couple who was previously legally married outside the temple may also be sealed. Children born to the couple before they were sealed or children adopted into the family may also participate in a sealing to be sealed to their parents. A sealing involves those being sealed kneeling at an altar, while their union or family is blessed by one holding the correct priesthoood authority to last throughout time and eternity. A sealing is the only temple ordinace in which family and friends who are also members of the Church are invited to watch.

Each temple also contains a room called the Celestial Room, which Church members use for quiet contemplation, prayer, study, or meditation. The Celestial Room is meant to represent heaven and being in the presence of God.

As you may be able to infer from all the above, the inside of a temple is not a large worship hall like a cathedral, but rather a building full of smaller rooms, each with a specific function and purpose.

You can see photographs, videos, and more information about what happens inside a "Mormon" temple at the "Related Links" below.

Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (commonly called the "Mormon" church) do most of the same things you do - they go to school and to work, spend time with family, go to the movies, shop, travel, etc. It would be easier to say the things they do not do. Most Mormons do not drink alcohol, coffee, or tea, they do use tobacco or do drugs, they do not have sexual relationships outside of a legal marriage... really that's about it. Mormons live in regular neighborhoods with regular jobs and regular hobbies and interests. They wear the same clothes and watch the same TV shows and listen to the same music as you do. Because Mormons promise to be examples of Jesus Christ at baptism, many Mormons become involved in their community and in service organizations.
The Church as a whole has both a preaching/proselyting arm and a humanitarian/service arm. The Church seeks spread the gospel worldwide through uplifting media (television, radio, internet) as well as through a force of 50,000 missionaries, who often go door to door or stand on street corners inviting people to learn more about Jesus Christ. The Church is also well known for it's disaster relief program, and is often a first responder to major natural disasters. LDS Charities and LDS Humanitarian Services work together with the Red Cross, Catholic Relief Services, Islamic Relief, and other major organizations. The Church provides medical and dental care, wheelchairs, vaccinations, water access (wells), food, education, emergency shelters, clothing, and many other supplies to hundreds of thousands of people. The Church also operates its own charity farms and ranches which supply the food to church owned food banks (called Bishop Storehouses), local food banks, and disaster relief efforts.
