If you mean when they were in the trenches then they mainly drank tea. The tea was easy to transport because it was light. But the tea often tasted of petrol because the tea was often contained in empty petrol pots.

When they were on leave they would drink beer, ale, coffee, tea etc. whatever theirrationscould afford. I hope this helped because i haven't studied World War 1 at school yet because i am only 12. But I found a website with thisinformation. thank you.
