Is there a black hole on the Earth?

It's highly unlikely, as we would have detected it. Micro black holes are physically possible but their existence hasn't been confirmed. One could safely say, that there is no black hole on the Earth and the nearest black hole is a safe, 1,600 light years from us.

Is 5 million years quite old for a black hole?

No - In fact, the Chandra X-ray Observatory detected a jet of X-rays from a supermassive black hole 12.4 billion light years from Earth.

Can people predict that black holes are coming?

If a rogue black hole were headed towards Earth, astute astronomical observation - such as those scanning for near earth objects, like asteroids - could notice gravitational lensing effects of the black hole due to its ability to bend light; perterbations of orbits of objects in the solar system might be noticed, or possibly electromagnetic emissions such as those around x-ray energies caused by its accretion disk could be detected. There have been some efforts to statistically predict the probability that a black hole might encounter earth, results indicate the event to be extremely unlikely although not entirely impossible.

Could a black hole at the center of the Milky Way change gravity on Earth?

No. The black hole at the center of the galaxy is too far away to affect earth.

How are near earth objects detected?

Most NEO's are detected by satalite and radar usage but some are detected by the usage of telescopes which take pictures of the sky and find moving objects that aren't bright and figure out that they are comets or asteroids or anything that is well near the Earth.

Which type of seismic waves cannot be detected on the side of Earth opposite an earthquake?

The type of wave that cannot be detected on the other side of Earth is a secondary wave also known as a s wave

What is the band around the earth were seismic waves are not detected?

Shadow Zone

What is the band around the earth where seismic waves are not detected?

Shadow Zone

How are Near Earth Object's stopped from hitting Earth?

First, the danger must be detected way ahead of time. Second, something would have to be done to change their orbits. For example, making atom bombs explode on or near their surface has been considered. If detected way in advance, a small change in its direction could take it away from Earth. This is all hypothetical - so far, no Near Earth Object has been thus stopped.

Could a black hole pass through the earth like a needle?

No. A black hole would utterly destroy Earth by the time it passed within a few thousand light years.

Could humans fly on Earth?

Expect a prototype invention of real-life wings, so people could possibly fly on Earth. But for right now, people could fly with sails, and jet packs, if a company could actually allow them to be made.

How could life exist on a planet that has characteristics different from Earth?

the inhabitants could have special adaptations, such as fish have gills that allow them to breathe under water.
