As long as she is not violating any laws (think "stalking") or the terms of the divorce, there is not much that you can do legally, besides being the adults in the situation and not joining in the fight.

Beating is always abuse and I imagine there's a language that goes with it and that would be verbal abuse. Demanding is not abuse though.
