What do i do to check dome light being on all the time in my 89 Chevy Cheyenne c1500?

Door SwitchI just Had This Problem. Ok hear is two things. First check the switch on the light is it set to off or Door or on Make sure it is set to Door. There are two light's on the interor one in the frunt and one in the cargo area. The Seckond thing to do is open the Pasanger side door look to see iff the light goes on or not. If not put in your key to the ingnshion and open the Driver Side door lission for a sound. If you sear no Key Beep and there is no light. Look on the Driver side Lower right of the Door Jam looking for the Door Switch. This is a little black boot on the bottem right of the Door Jam. If it is torn get a Filups head Screw Driver Apply Alot of Pressure and use a Propley Fitted Screw Driver so you don't Strip the head of the Screw. Take it out then use a Flat Head Screw Driver to pop off the Switch from the wire Harnes. Becarefull don't let the plug fall back in the Door Frame other wize you will never get io out.. Look at the Ends of the Switch and plug if they have any type of Croson on them the switch is Bad. The Bigest clew of this is a Torn Black Boot. It has gotten Watter in the Switch and Shorted it out. This is A three Function Switch. you can not swap out the driver side with the pasanger side it will not work. total the Switch and the Boot wll caust you 17.00 from Nisson. I had to orter mine they usually don't keep them in Stock. Put a little Clear Cillicone on the Boot and around the plug when replacing the Switch to help it keep dry if the boot ere to tare agane..
