You have to ask? Either you want to be with your boyfriend (your guy), be committed to him, or you do not. If you love the one your with, the answer is easy, NO! However, now it becomes uncomfortable knowing that he has in a sense betrayed your boyfriend as a best friend. The trust factor has now become compromised, only your boyfriend does not know it yet. Well, I would handle this with discretion. Do you tell your boyfriend, or not? At this time it might be better to let sleeping dogs lie.

why not? is there a problem with dating your best friend?
This is my opinion:The real question is: Is the change worth the risk. A "real" date can change how you think about each other. This can mess up your friendship.
Because the fellow thinks the risk is worth it, Do you value him so much as a Friend that you are willing to deny him the opportunity to show you he can be more to you?
A real Friend would go on the date. And yes I have burned more than one friendship this way.
